Authentic Timber Gantry Range - Kerry Tramway Heritage
The Timber Gantry range provides an excellent basis for a model timber yard or workshop, bringing authentic industrial character to your 7mm scale layout.
Historical Authenticity
This gantry design is based on one used in the Brynllywarch Estate sawmill that was served by the Kerry Tramway in Montgomeryshire in the early 20th century. The gantry structure was constructed from timber balks and was very much a homemade affair, perfectly capturing the character of rural Welsh narrow gauge operations.
No details of the original winch and trolley exist, so the winch and log grab designs are based on products made by Herbert Morris of Loughborough - a renowned manufacturer of industrial lifting equipment.
