Timber Gantry - Support Post Kit + Side Brace - LH End Brace - 1:43.5 Scale (7mm:1')

The kit includes the vertical post with side brace & end brace and the top supporting cross beam as separate components. These require simple adhesive assembly. See the main kit instructions for more details.

This post is intended to be used at the end of a gantry assembly and provides braced support on a free corner. The post is braced laterally - across the gantry, and longitudinally - along the length of the gantry.

Because of this bracing, the post is handed. This is a left handed post and, if support is required for both sides of the gantry then a matching right-handed post should also be purchased.

This component is made from durable grey SLA resin and is supplied unpainted for you to finish to match your model period and location. 

The gantry is based on one used on the Brynllywarch Estate sawmill that was served by the Kerry Tramway in Montgomeryshire in the early 20th century.  The main structure was constructed from timber balks and was very much a homemade affair. The details on this post reflect local construction - timber from the sawmill and blacksmith-made bolts and washers.
